Asian equities were trading lower on Monday after a further slump in oil prices weighed on Wall Street on Friday.
Japan’s Inpex was down 3.85 percent and Japan Petroleum was down 3.35 percent. Japan, South Korea markets firmly in the red
The Japanese and Korean markets were in negative territory.
The Nikkei 225 benchmark shaved 500 points, or 2.61 percent, in early trade to 18,737. The Topix was down 36 points, or 2.33 percent, at 1,513.
In Korea, the Seoul Kospi was down 24 points, or 1.2 percent, at 1,925.
