Asian equity markets were mostly lower on Wednesday amid fresh geopolitical fears and as oil prices resumed their declines.
Nikkei down 0.4 percent
The Nikkei 225 shed its gains from the previous trading session, with sentiment dampened by minutes of the Bank of Japan’s October 30 meeting, in which members said the Japanese economy was likely to grow at a slower pace in 2017 due to sales tax hikes.
Kospi falls 0.2 percent
Seoul’s Kospi traded in a narrow range despite solid gains in steel manufacturers on the back of stronger commodity prices. Posco climbed as much as 1 percent while Hyundai Steel added 1.18 percent.
ASX loses 0.6 percent
Australian stocks extended losses after closing near 1 percent lower on Tuesday, weighed down by losses among banks.
