Epic Research Update : Asian Markets

Asian equity markets outside of Shanghai snapped a two-day losing streak on Tuesday after US retail data surpassed estimates and boosted stocks on Wall Street .

Japan’s Nikkei gained 0.98 percent or 136.81 points at 14,046.97. Singapore’s Straits Times added 0.83 percent or 26.64 points at 3,241.47.

South Korea’s Seoul Composite was up 0.20 percent or 4.06 points at 2,001.08. Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted gained 0.38 percent or 33.91 points at 8,891.33.

China’s Shanghai Composite was down 0.44 percent or 9.28 points at 2,122.26. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng shed 0.20 percent or 45.12 points at 22,993.68.
