EPIC ASIAN MARKETS UPDATE

Asian equity markets were mixed on Friday as Japan’s Nikkei index pulled back from fresh six-year highs while a record close on the Dow lifted sentiment in the rest of the region.

China’s Shanghai Composite rose 0.43 percent or 8.98 points at 2,082.08.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was up 0.16 percent or 37.38 points at 23,216.93.

Japan’s Nikkei shed 0.51 percent or 82.50 points at 16,091.94.

Singapore’s Straits Times added 0.40 percent or 12.60 points at 3,146.96.

South Korea’s Seoul Composite was flat at 1,998.55.

Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted jumped 0.25 percent or 21.03 points at 8,506.92.
