Equity benchmarks shed more than 0.5
percent Tuesday amid volatility on profit booking and further depreciation in
rupee. Investors seemed anxious ahead of the two-day Federal Reserve’s policy
meeting that will begin tonight.
BSE Sensex fell by 102.59
points to close at 19223.28, after 499 points rally seen in previous two
sessions. The Niftyslipped 36.45 points to 5813.60.
