Copper futures decline 0.19 per cent low demand

Copper prices fell 0.19 per cent to Rs 386 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions amid a weak trend at domestic spot markets due to subdued demand.

Copper for delivery in far-month June contracts fell by 80 paise or 0.19 per cent to Rs 386 per kg at the Multi Commodity Exchange in a business turnover of 29 lots.
On similar lines, the metal for delivery in April shed 40 paise or 0.10 per cent to Rs 382.60 per kg in 927 lots.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months rose 0.2 per cent to USD 6,072.50 per tonne at the LME, while in Shanghai the metal for June contracts advanced 0.8 per cent to 43,670 yuan (USD 7,052) a tonne.
